Unashamed Christian

This month’s First Sunday worship service was a blessing! I am thankful for the men who are committed to attending our worship service on a regular basis. God’s Word reminded us that the name Christian (a name given by outsiders to ridicule believers of Jesus Christ) has become and should remain to be the beloved name by which believers are known. Not only that, Peter, in 1 Peter 4:16, encouraged early Christians by letting them know that if they suffer as Christians they are not be ashamed but rather glorify God in that name (Christian). Incarcerated Christian men have a lot to contend with in the prison setting. I thank God for reminding them that they are much more than the number on their chest and when times get tough they can know that they belong to Jesus!
