Our History

Proclamation of the Gospel message has always been a cornerstone of what has come to be known as The Gospel Enterprise (TGE).

In 2000, our founder, James Ray II, created the whatmustidotobesaved.com Internet evangelism website. Along with handing out Gospel tracts, this ministry became an effective instrument for spreading the gospel to many people in multiple states for nearly a decade.

In 2010, James and his wife Pamela founded Our Daily Bread Global Ministries (ODBGM). This ministry purchased a mobile food truck to provide physical as well as spiritual food (the Gospel) to those in the community.

About the same time, ODBGM invested in sports tickets to connect with people and spread the gospel. As a season ticket-holding organization, ODBGM provided tickets so others could attend the Denver Nuggets basketball games. The ODBGM “game package” included Gospel tracts along with instructions that invited attendees to share comments about their experience. This post-game dialogue often provided the opportunity to share Jesus. For two years, this ministry proved to be effective in connecting with others and introducing Jesus and the Gospel to many friends, family, and co-workers.

In 2014, ODBGM committed to reaching men and women in prison with the Gospel. It is a fact that lives have been and are being changed as the Gospel is taken to men and women behind bars. Although COVID-19 impeded our efforts temporarily, our ministry is back on track with the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC). In this context, we are privileged to minister to men behind bars. Over the last several years, ODBGM has worked with others to help provide hundreds of incarcerated men and women with Bibles, the Gospel message, prayer, Bible studies, sermons, and hope for a better future through a heart transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God.

In 2020, ODBGM converted to The Gospel Enterprise (TGE), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission remains the same in terms of spreading the Gospel and transforming people at the heart level for the common good.

Today, we extend our ministry efforts beyond evangelism to providing Christian education and spiritual care to men in the Colorado Department of Corrections. We also provide discipleship training to local churches.

While prisons continue to work diligently towards reform, and educational institutions strive to inform, and laws and policies help people to conform, the Gospel Enterprise believes and knows that only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can truly transform!

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”  Romans 1:16

To God be the glory!
